This note comes to introduce to you Dr. MaryBeth Chrostowsky, a Visiting Fulbright Scholar for AY2023/2024. Dr. MaryBeth is a Lecturer of Anthropology at Georgia Gwinnett College located at Lawrenceville, Georgia, USA. Dr. MaryBeth has conducted research on forced migrant experience in both the United States and in Africa for over a decade. During her time in Uganda, she will teach in the Master of Refugee and Migration Studies (MRMS) programme and conduct research on the forced migrant experience in the Refugee settlement camps in Uganda. Both staff and students will be invited to participate in the research.
Dr. MaryBeth arrived in Uganda on 19th August 2023 following the invitation of the Vice Chancellor and is based at the Main Campus, Nkozi. UMU welcomes Dr. MaryBeth and continues to thank Fulbright Scholarship Program for the support to scholars who expresses interest to teach and conducts research in Uganda. Together we celebrate the 30 years of existence under the theme ‘Agility, Flexibility and Creativity for Transformational change and Excellence.’
